THE DEAN FACULTY OF EDUCATION AHMADU BELLO UNIVERSITY ZARIA'S VISIT TO THE ROOSC PROJECT OFFICE

On January 21st, 2025, we had the distinct honor and privilege of welcoming the Dean and distinguished members of the Faculty of Education from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, to explore the exciting prospects of mutual collaboration. This meeting marked a significant milestone in our shared mission to address one of the most pressing challenges in the educational landscape, Out-of-School Children. Together, we are poised to embark on an impactful journey, working hand-in-hand to ensure that every child, regardless of their circumstances, has access to the quality education they deserve.
This collaboration is not just about a partnership between two institutions; it’s about creating lasting change for the children of Kaduna State and beyond. The focus of our discussions centered around the upcoming International Conference on Out-of-School Children, an event that is set to be a game-changer in the realm of education. The conference will provide a unique and powerful platform for us to engage with critical stakeholders in the education sector, including policymakers, educators, international bodies, and non-governmental organizations, all of whom share a common goal—addressing the educational needs of children who are excluded from formal schooling.
Through our collaboration with the Faculty of Education at ABU Zaria, we are confident that the conference will be a wellspring of ideas and strategies that can pave the way for sustainable changes in the educational system. With their academic expertise and research-driven insights, the faculty members from ABU Zaria will play an instrumental role in ensuring that the conference outcomes are not only actionable but also rooted in evidence-based practices that have been proven to work. Their experience in addressing educational challenges, particularly in the context of marginalized communities, will be invaluable as we collectively work to find solutions to the issue of out-of-school children.
Together, we are committed to making a difference for the children who are currently out of school in Kaduna State, as well as those in other parts of Nigeria. The statistics surrounding out-of-school children are staggering, but they don’t define our future, our collective action does.
Our commitment to out-of-school children goes beyond this one event—it is a long-term dedication to ensuring that every child in Kaduna State and beyond has the opportunity to learn, grow, and realize their full potential. The International Conference on Out-of-School Children is only the beginning of a broader movement for change, one that will continue to gain momentum and drive real, measurable outcomes for children everywhere.
As we look ahead, we are filled with optimism and excitement for the path we are about to tread together. With the support of the Faculty of Education at ABU Zaria, we are confident that this collaboration will not only change the lives of out-of-school children in Kaduna State but will also set a powerful example for others to follow. Together, we are ready to take bold action to ensure that every child, everywhere, has access to the education they deserve.
